Diagnostics

When quick diagnostic results are needed, we can run a variety of tests right here at the clinic. This includes complete blood counts, general chemistries, electrolytes, and some urine and fecal tests.

Heartworm and fecal tests can tell us if parasites are present, and blood screenings and urinalysis tell us how organs and systems are functioning. With regular testing, we can catch disease early and start treatment sooner when it is most effective.

We have in-house digital radiography (x-rays), and we can send the images to a board-certified radiologist when needed. Digital radiography can detect abnormalities including skeletal fractures, soft tissue damage, foreign bodies and dental disease. Some radiographs require the patient remain completely still, so sedation may be necessary. If so, the duration of sedation is usually short and patient recovery is swift.

We offer special diagnostic pricing for our geriatric patients, so be sure to talk to us about options if your pet is a senior.
